Tigo Ghana Meets Naija concert review of Team Ghana

Hi guys,

I went to the Tigo Ghana Meets Naija concert on Saturday evening. I must say what a good turn out there was, so many people came to dance the night away as we were entertained firstly by some local Ghanaian Acts (Including Keche, Mz Vee and Ruff and Smooth) then the Ghana team which consisted of Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy.

Shatta Wale never disappoints, he had the liveliest performance of the night, he reminds me of a Ghanaian version of The Energy God-Elephant man (my favourite dancehall act). The audience made him redundant as they literally sang the songs for him. He did a great job giving us a great vibe with hit after hit. He then ended up stripping down to his underwear, yuck! Check out his performance below:

Sarkodie followed suit, giving us another great show, which surprised me as I was borderline bored at his performance at the last Tigo Music Unplugged concert. However I think it helped that the time was limited so he had less time to pack in all his hits, which made it more punchy and overall a perfect performance, no gimmicks just great music. The crowd also made Sarkodie redundant, especially during his song Adonai with Castro. You can see it all below:

Last for team Ghana was Stonebwoy, I know Ghanaians love him to pieces as he recently won Artist of the year at the VGMA’s but I have to be honest and say his performance was disappointing and I got bored. It was lifeless and seemed as though he was struggling a bit. However the problem might not be his performance, maybe the organiser shouldn’t have put him after such energetic performances.
Sorry, just being honest. Yon can decide for yourself…

To be continued with my review of Team Naija and the rest of the concert.
