Villa Monticello’s Signature Restaurant, Chapter One Turns 1!

Villa Monticello is one of Accra’s leading luxury boutique hotels, located in Airport Residential. Known for its world class design and exemplary customer service. It is right in the heart of the city, where it combines modern luxury with traditional Ghanaian culture.

Villa Monticello’s signature restaurant Chapter One has now been open for a year and it has continued to grow from strength to strength with a delicious menu that will blow your mind! We were invited with a selected few media personalities and other guests to celebrate their 1 year anniversary and boy was this a celebration to remember. table-settings-theonlywayisghanaWe had the pleasure of sampling an exquisite 5 course meal which had been selected from their new menu with a range of wines to compliment each dishThese new additions to the menu were delicious and so beautifully presented. There was a choice of 2 to 3 dishes from each course, so this is what I went for…

First course: Prawn Laska Soup paired with Paul Cluver Gerwurtztraminer.first-course-theonlywayisghana

Second course: Poached lobster, beetroot smoked salmon, beetroot purée and smoked paprika foam and chorizo crispy. second-course-theonlywayisghana

Main course: Slow roasted lamb with wild herbs crust, tarragon croquettes, butternut squash puree, butter spinach with lamb jus.

Dessert: Variety of 🇬🇭 chocolate. Chocolate cannelloni, strawberry centre, soft chocolate, hazelnut cake with rich white chocolate mousse, top strawberry macaroon and pistachio ice cream. dessert-theonlywayisghana

Now…for this dessert, I have to state that I am not a chocolate person so was a bit dubious when choosing this. However I was pleasantly surprised to say the least! That cake with the rich white chocolate mousse was honestly to die for. I salivate as I write this, if there is one thing you do when you come to Accra, it is to visit Villa Monticello and try some dishes from this Chapter One menu!

This was truly an amazing evening with great food and great company. Huge compliments to Executive Chef Ruby Paintsil, who graciously took a moment to come and greet us and make sure we had a splendid evening, which we did indeed.
