Edun’s latest resort collection is a love letter to Ghana. Styled and photographed by Louis Philippe de Gagoue. Edun founded by Ali Hewson and her husband Bono, they have drawn inspiration from the African continent to produce unique collections. The brands focus has always been a focus on African produced clothing, with the aim of fostering partnerships with creators on the continent.
This latest collection inspired by Ghana, was in line with the brands ethos. The textiles were produced all over the continent (Kenya, Madagascar). The brand also worked closely with Ghanaian brand one eight nine to produce some of the pieces. Utilizing the colour pallet of the Ghanaian flag and tropical patterns that worked beautifully together.
The collection was shot in Ghana in Elubo. The brand has made a conscious effort to push ethical fashion. Edun has taken steps to collaborate with the African continent to create opportunity and to utilize the variety of skills and resources present. Working with African artisans and highlighting the contributions made by Africans is a great step for the fashion industry.
The collection was a beautiful blend of colours and patterns, combining all the elements Edun is known for.
